About Food in Brooklyn
Brooklyn is the center of a great local food movement in the U.S. Here you will find small companies making almost any kind of food you can think of in small artisanal batches. Ice cream, pickles, mayonnaise, bread, beer, and chocolate to name just a few. This local food scene has spawned and been supported by a thriving network of gourmet shops and grocers as well as plentiful markets such as Smorgasburg
There are also amazing restaurants as many new and talented chefs are both priced out of Manhattan and also attracted to the vibrant food scene in Brooklyn. Williamsburg, Fort Greene, Park Slope, and Carroll Gardens all boast some of the best restaurants in New York.
Finally, there is the immigrant food scene. With so many immigrants, Brooklyn is a literal United Nations of food and home to New York's best Mexican, Caribbean, Italian, and Russian food. There is nothing better than eating your way through the neighborhoods.
What to Eat?
Everywhere. Good food abounds. Williamsburg, Park Slope, and Carroll Gardens contain the highest concentrations of great food but there is amazing food anywhere from Brighton Beach to Bushwick. Try it all.
