The real taste of Malaysia! Eat like a local and get a taste of the best Indian, Chinese and Malay specialities of the city.

This 4-hour gentle walk will take you to old coffee shops, favourite street food stalls and crowded night markets.

There, you will be able to experience the variety of food that makes the city famous. Get a bite at a flying roti canai, slurp some spicy curry mee or indulge in an ice-cold ABC treat. And don't forget our daily specials like the teh-tarik and the nasi lemak.

Your journey will start at the local wet market where we will show you the local ingredients. We will then proceed to the most famous Malay food area for some satay, nasi kerabu, rendang, ikan bakar and kueh.

After that, what's better to eliminate the calories than a walk to the Indian neighbourhood for some spicy curries, some special rotis and a banana leaf.

And finally, we will loose ourselves in the small streets of Chinatown for some dim-sum, taufu fah, sago gula Melaka and more.

So forget about your healthy diet for a night and get your load of tasteful memories!

Hi there, my name is Mat and I have been trekking the Malaysian jungle together with the Orang Asli (the indigenous people of Malaysia) for the last 8 years. I am originately from France but I have settled in Malaysia and married a Malaysian girl. I can speak Malay fluently. Ask the locals and they will tell you that I know the country better than them! From a night in a cave, a dip in a local waterfall, a bite at some quirky food (buffalo's penis soup, monitor lizard, snake and more) to cultural insights, survival tips and information about the fruits, animals and plants of the jungle, you can be sure that you will learn a lot more about the country than you would expect from a foreigner ;) Full profile

The food marathon was brilliant! Mat was so knowledgeable about the food and culture of KL that it made the experience that much more enjoyable. If you love to eat (and you will be eating!) and love food in general then I cannot recommend this tour highly enough
