Learn to harness, and run your own team of dogs. Enjoy the amazing nature, only accompanied by the sound of the trotting Alaskan Huskies in front of you. All our tours include a stop where we make fire, and boil coffee/tea, and talk about the dogs, and teach you the history of dog mushing. You need no experience. The guide drives his team in front, and your team will naturally follow. We offer tours year around, in the summer using sturdy 4 wheeled carts, and in the winter we go by sled in the mountains. We offer half day tours (3 hours, coffee/snack stop included) and full day wilderness lunch tours (6 hours, simple lunch included). We have clothes, boots, hats and gloved for you, free of charge. We offer transportation to and from the kennel to Røros or Os. Halfway tour is 162 USD, Day tour is 273 USD. 1/2 price for kids under 12. 10 USD extra for transportation to/from the kennel,5 USD per child under 12. For bigger groups, please call. We have capacity for 200 total.
Half day tour starts 09.30 and ends 12.30. Or 13.00 to 16.00. Full day tour starts 9.30 and ends 15.30. Email or call with questions.

After the mast on my sailboat broke in a storm outside Africa, I somehow drifted into dog mushing, and have loved it ever since. I love sharing the dogs, and the sport of mushing with all our visitors. Beside tours, I focus on long-distance racing. For 2 years I lived in Alaska, where I did the worlds longest sled dog race, the 1600 km Yukon Quest. I places 6th in that race, and have many other top-5 (including a 1st place) in races in Alaska and Norway. I would love to share my stories from the trail with you :) Full profile Leave a Review
