Prague Behind The Scenes is an affordable walking tour designed for those who want to see the best of Prague in a less touristic way. This is why I take my clients away from the conventional routes, which are full of rushing tourists, kitschy souvenirs, and armies of segways; I rather blend in with back alleys and find their hidden gems, curiosities and unknown lovely places. If you like this way of city exploring, I will be more than happy to show you around my hometown!
The main sights you will see on the tour: Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, John Lennon Wall, Charles Bridge, Loreta, Municipal House, Powder Gate, Rudolfinum and Strahov Monastery.
This isn’t a herd-style or umbrella tour, but rather a friendly walk with a real Prague local. Small group sizes (8 people max.) mean that you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn and interact.
The best bit? Free WiFi for the whole duration of the tour for instant photo sharing and original gift for every participant. This is my way of saying “Thank you!” for choosing me.
You don’t have to worry about the length of the tour – we’ll stop regularly and there will be enough time to take photos, use the WC and purchase snacks if you wish. Since we are always just a small goup, everything is pretty much customizable.
We’ll also stop for coffee and a light lunch at an authentic family-run coffee place hidden down a tiny picturesque street in Hradčany district. After resting our feet in this cute place we will set off to discover the highlight of Prague, the impressive Prague Castle.
The tour starts at Náměstí Republiky and ends at Prague Castle.
Hi, my name is Dana and I am founder, owner and guide for a small local business called Prague Behind The Scenes. I was born and raised in Prague. Sample kid of 80´s. Born in communism, living in democracy. When the regime changed in 1989, I was already 8. Most of my life I have been breathing this local Prague air. However, I also spent some time abroad and have been traveling extensively. Besides Czech Republic, my second homes are Canada and Norway where I used to live. I am an independent individual who enjoys personable approach and quality over quantity. My everyday goal when leading the tour is showing people my city through the eyes of Prague resident, in less touristy way and with respect to amazing Prague genius loci. In my decision to become a local guide I was very much influenced by Couchsurfing where I have been member for more than 8 years now and through which I voluntarily guided and showed around number of fantastic people who inspired me to turn my skills and passion for meeting travelers into Prague Behind The Scenes project. Before I founded my own business I used to work in PR and advertising field. I also completed my full certification to become an official Guide of Prague in 2010. Full profile
