If I could eat pasta everyday, I would. In this three hour workshop I am going to make sure you leave Rome as an expert in two of the city’s iconic pasta dishes: Amatriciana and Carbonara. Although these pastas have few ingredients, and appear easy, they are hard to get right. I have spent much time with local chefs, grandmas and home-cooks to master the techniques.
We will be meeting in the ground floor of our new Cooking space, Monti Kitchen, located in one of the most picturesque streets in the Monti neighbourhood. During this very relaxed cooking workshop you will learn about the ingredients that go into each dish. We will cover topics like the difference between guanciale and pancetta, pecorino and parmigiano, dry pasta vs fresh pasta. All of this over a glass (or two) of wine. We will finish our time together by sitting around the table and enjoying the meal we will have prepared, accompanied by a seasonal salad.
Vegetarian options are always available.
Price includes all food and wine, as well as a small dessert.
My name is Sophie Minchilli and I am Italo-American born and raised in the beautiful city of Rome. I have always had a passion for food, and started giving tours of the city I love about a year and a half ago. I am in love with Rome and its delicious food, so I am always so excited to meet new people and introduce them to some of the best food in Italy, and explain what the people of Rome eat, how and why.
