Do you love the outdoors? Yes! Checked! Do you want to be packed with bus loads of tourists and screaming kids in John Muir Woods after you've spent a good part of your day finding a parking spot? No! Checked! If you've read so far, let me invite you to visit this place I called home! The mountains just south of SF, with endless excellent hiking/biking trails, offer sweeping views of the Pacific ocean and intimate encounters with majestic old/second growth redwoods and the many fauna and animals that live there. You practically own the trails all to yourself!! These places are less known to the tourists yet no less scenic, if not more, compare to what's listed on typical guidebooks. Whatever activities you may choose, ranging from black-diamond style mtn biking to cycling along the gorgeous coastline to easy hikes under the serene canopy of redwoods along meandering creeks to visiting hidden wineries/restaurants along the way, let me be your guide to a perfect day! I might even throw in a bottle of wine and cheese along the way! ;)
I came to San Francisco 30 years ago and traveled extensively across the globe but never, for a minute, thought I'd be transplanted anywhere else. An outdoors enthusiast and fun loving person, I practically spent every weekend cycling, hiking, swimming, fishing, camping, skiing within 150 miles radius of San Francisco Bay Area. Yes, often times taking the kids from church too! And, yes, I know all the beautiful spots like the palm of my hand. Full profile
