Most visitors to Dublin never experience that famous character of Dublin pubs. With all the signs pointing you to the Temple Bar area, who could blame them? Truth is those genuine watering holes of Dubliners are tricky to find.
Find out where the locals go... with an actual local. Simple.
I've done 100s of pub crawls for small & big groups. But the small, close groups are the best. We'll be able to fit into the snugs, the smallest pub in Dublin and be a part of the timeless tradition of conversation for which the Irish are famous.
Guinness – find out why Irish people only drink Guinness in certain 'old man pubs'
Local – get out of the tourist bubble & meet some locals. Once we've had 'a few scoops', you'll be chatting to regulars like a... regular.
Music – unless you go to the west of Ireland, you're not likely to find an authentic 'trad session'. No one would doubt that Dublin has a heroic amount of pubs, but the ones with a good Traditional Irish music session are rare enough to be counted on one hand.
Literary – stories & characters abound in Irish pubs. Some of them inspire pen to paper and some even become immortalised in works of fiction, poetry or theatre, forever having their name carved on the DNA of Dublin.
Variety – we steal a glance into a few pubs just to see everything that a 'pub' can be. Plus, we'd need the break!
Tour can be tweaked if you're a whiskey (or otherwise) drinker.
The price of the drinks is NOT included in the tour price, but you should count on spending around €6 per pint/whiskey in each pub.
Young, energetic, but most importantly, knowledgeable and entertaining, Garvan has talked about Dublin city so much that now Dublin city is talking about HIM! Having over 200 tours under his belt, he knows all the main sites and most of the hidden ones ;) With a degree in Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies, his background is historical, but his personality and style is deeply passionate, engaging, entertaining, funny and high-spirited, with a bit of the theatrical occasionally thrown in for good measure! So, if you’re planning a trip to Dublin or if you’re here already, just give him a quick email or call and he’ll be delighted to show you about the place! Full profile ⋅ Leave a Review
