This is the best tour and narrative of the battles of Chickamauga, Chattanooga and Missionary Ridge. You will get the history and the "set up" of the strategic battle. I focus on the best views of the battle areas from the high ground overlooking them. Great photo experiences, monuments and history of the nations first National Battlefield Park. Also visit with a couple of local historians who can add a personal, local flavor. If you would like a breakfast, lunch, or dinner stop and can provide some great local food into the tour, without taking any time out of the tour itself. Food cost are not included, although I provide snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. I customize this tour based on your specific level of interest based on a few basic questions. Customized for the novice, civil war buff, or true historian. Also customized amount of walking and hiking, to mostly remaining near the van. Its your choice!

I'm from Chattanooga, TN. I have a Master's degree from Mercer University. Married for 20 years, with 2 grown children, and one collie. My undergraduate degree was in history, with an emphasis on the Civil War. Chattanooga is an incredible city. Modern, with the fastest internet in the country, many High Tech companies, and a beautiful, and vibrant downtown sitting on the Tennessee River. Chattanooga was named the Best Outdoor City in the nation by Outdoor Life Magazine. The city is loaded with history, with numerous civil war sites nearby. It was the location of 3 major battles, and has the Chickamauga National Battlefield, which is comprised of three great parks around the city. Full profile Leave a Review
