I’m a native New Yorker, and love playing tennis in Central Park. It is the most wonderful place to play in Manhattan. There are 26 clay courts next to the magical Central Park reservoir – an idyllic spot in the heart of the park. While not a pro I am a 4.0 player.
I've played tennis in many cities – Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Paris, London, Prague, Positano, San Francisco, Santa Fe, and Miami Beach but mostly I play in Central Park.
It is always a pleasure playing with someone who knows the local tennis scene as only a native does. So if you are a tennis enthusiast visiting New York, I can offer you a memorable experience – an hour of tennis in Central Park. We can play a set, or just hit for fun; it's up to you!
Your booking must be made 5 days in advance of the day you want to play. This is what is included. I will reserve a court for one (1) hour between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. I will purchase a single day players pass for you. I'll provide the tennis balls. We will meet at the Central Park Tennis Center clubhouse 30 minutes before the scheduled hour of play. The Tennis Center is located mid-park at 93rd Street. There are men's and women's changing rooms with showers. You must wear smooth–soled sneakers.
There is also a pro shop where you can rent a racket ($10). In addition, the shop sells Central Park Tennis branded apparel.
I hope to see you at the courts.
As a New Yorker I love playing tennis in Central Park. It is one of the most beautiful places to play in Manhattan. 26 clay (Har-Tru) courts surrounded by trees, and next to the magical Central Park reservoir–an idyllic place in the heart of Manhattan. I’ve played on these historic courts since high-school when my tennis teammates and I practiced there after school. Over the years I've played in many U.S. and European cities–San Francisco, Santa Fe, Miami Beach, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Paris, London, Prague and Bilbao. But from May to November I play at the Central Park Tennis Center. It is always a enjoyable playing with someone who knows the local tennis scene. So if you are a player visiting New York I can offer you a memorable experience–an hour of tennis in Central Park. We can play a set, or just hit: it's up to you! Full profile ⋅ Leave a Review
