We will visit a sardinian cheese factory: a modern milk processing factory operating in the dairy field for the last 50 years. The company specializes in the production of typical Sardinian cheeses and dairy products derived from sheep and goat’s milk of an exclusive local origin.
The visitors will be equipped with the "visitor's kit" that includes shirts, headset, shoe covers, disposable mask.
In the 10000 sqm destined to production, the milk processing reaches about 20.000.000 liters of milk per year, from which are obtained 4,000,000 kilos of finished product. In production work about 40 full time employees and 15/20 seasonal staff. The finished goods are distributed in Italy and abroad through our Distribution Center located in Monteveglio near Bologna.
During the visit we will travel the rooms of the cheese factory with explanations and curiosity about history and on the cheese production techniques. After the tour will be offered a cheese tasting.
At certain times of the year it will be possible to watch the milking and feeding of lambs and little goats.
We will visit the production halls:
• seasoned cheese;
• dried cheese;
• ricotta cheese, packaging, cells of maturation.
