English Lakes Scramble

with Graeme S.

Graeme S.

The English Lake District is said to be the most stunning National Park in the British Isles. The mountains and valleys are called fells and dales (from old Norse). Walk up one of Wainwright's many fells or scramble up isolated gills, if you're up for it. You might be surprised to find yourself working to keep up with Graeme and Marianne, formerly seasoned alpine ski guides, but they can adjust the tour to fit any level.

If the weather is too bad for outside activities we can visit Hill Top Farm as featured in Renee Zellweger's "Miss Potter" film about Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth's Dove Cottage or the Rheged Centre.

We are Graeme S. and Marianne H. a husband and wife guide team living in Morecambe Lancashire which has as its town moto "Beauty surrounds, health abounds". Graeme is is a former pharmacist who has spent many years caring for his patients and customers. Marianne, who is Danish, trained originally as a child care nurse in Denmark but since moving to England has been involved with customer care both in retail and as an account manager. For the last seven years we have worked together hosting and guiding in the French Alps. Each summer we love to return to our home in the North West of England where we have acted as tour guides for our many friends and former guests from around the world. They visit us to experience the many natural and tourist attractions that we have grown ourselves to love so much. We are now hoping to share our experiences with a wider audience so we can help maximise the visitor experience in this, the most beautiful region of England. Full profile Leave a Review
