Over the centuries pubs have played an important part in our community and London has some amazing historic pubs all with their own special atmosphere. On this walk I take you to five of these pubs, some are 100’s of years old so you can see where the famous people of the past have met and drunk or dined including Charles Dickens and Samuel Johnson and in one where it is said that an English Queen danced with one of her courtiers. You have plenty of time for a drink in each pub to take in the atmosphere although price of drinks not included in the fee. You must be aged over 18 to come on this walk due to licensing laws, this walk is not available at weekends as some of the pubs are closed.
Born in London, I have lived and spent all of my working life in London so I feel I have the knowledge and experience to give historic guided tours. A retired quantity surveyor, I started giving my tours to colleagues at work about six years ago and clients grew by word of mouth. I was then a guide for Trips4Real getting regular bookings until they were bought out by Airbnb and also a guide with Bubble Globe until they reduced their cities of operations to France only. I am passionate about London’s history and the people who played a major role in that history from Samuels Pepys, Charles Dickens to Jack the Ripper. On my walks I take you on a journey through time from Roman remains, hidden Dickensian alleyways to a Bangladesh Street market of today. Full profile ⋅ Leave a Review
