Immerse yourself completely in local life with the guidance of Doug, who has been traveling and guiding in Egypt and Sinai since 2001. You'll stay with locals who are close friends with Doug and experience a side of Egyptian and Bedouin cultures that most tourists never see.
Traditional sightseeing dots the itinerary, but it's the unplanned encounters with locals on the street, at a wedding, or while visiting a farm that guests always look back on as the defining moments.
All itineraries are truly customizable! Cairo's historic sights (Pharaonic, Islamic, Christian and more), camel trekking with Bedouin in Sinai, Monastery of St. Catherine, Mt. Sinai, snorkel/scuba in Red Sea, Luxor, Aswan, Valley of the Kings, Siwa oasis, jeep safari in the Sahara, Alexandria, day trip to Petra in Jordan.
Prices are all inclusive (minus airfare). Contact for custom dates.
I'm a camel farmer (TRULY!) and split my time between our family farm in Texas and Egypt. Since 1993 I’ve worked with camels, but in 2001 I visited Egypt hoping to learn more about camels. What I got was so much more. Over the years I've seen children grow up; young men become husbands and fathers. My life has been enriched beyond description and these relationships are what I want to share with you. Our family's camels and some of our trips have been featured in National Geographic Adventure magazine, Southern Living magazine, Texas Monthly, and Texas Highways magazine. National Geographic Explorer TV program included my business, Texas Camel Corps, in a segment on Canada's Odyssey Exploration Society, three Canadian adventurers who crossed the Arabian Desert after receiving camel-handling training from Texas Camel Corps.
