Our experience will begin at the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site that is the Pier Head, iconic and one of the finest water-fronts in the world.
Continuing with the maritime theme, we'll stroll to the unique Albert Dock complex alongside the Tate Gallery, and make our way to the mariner's church and St Nicholas's gardens at the end of the Strand.
As we continue to the Georgian Town Hall, we'll see the location of the secret underground bunker from where Winston Churchill conducted the North Atlantic campaign in WW II.
Stolling down Castle Street, lined with eateries and bars, our next stop will be the Mathew Street quarter where all things Beatles will be explored!
From here we're going to take in part of Liverpool One, the newer part of the shopping area, heading to Duke Street and Ropewalks. Here there are various points of interest to do with the Beatles, maritime history and social history, and some great street art too (Liverpool loves street art!)
Depending on the time of day and how you are feeling, we could stop here for a bite to eat and refreshment if you wish.
The experience will continue on up the hill towards the Georgian quarter, where the Catholic and the Anglican cathedral are located. There's the option to go into one of them for a few minutes (of your choice) although both are equally stunning in different ways.
We'll visit the iconic Philharmonic pub, with an eye popping Victorian interior, and you have the chance to take a drink here if you would like.
As we move back towards the centre of town, we'll see St Lukes - "The Bombed Out Church" and head down Bold Street and on to the waterfront, or your accomodation, whichever works best.
This is an outline and it works well, although I'm really flexible and adaptable and so we can tweak this to suit your own interests.
Hello! I'm so lucky to be able to call Liverpool home, and I've lived here right in the city centre for five years. As well as welcoming visitors, I work as a freelance writer and a singer (I even act occasionally too!), so I'm embedded in all things creative. Travelling is a huge part of my life, and in fact I've lived and worked in New Zealand, Portugal and various parts of the Middle East. As a singer I travelled around South East Asia and all over Europe, and the world and its people continue to fascinate me. My own travels this summer will take me to Budapest and Bosnia Herzegovina, and later in the year Georgia. My life passions are music, animals (I'm an experienced horse rider) and my camera is my constant companion. But I genuinely love to sit and have a good conversation about all manner of subjects, hence I love to meet new people from different places. I've just taken up yoga (ouch!) and of course I walk lots. I truly think that it's the best way of getting into the nooks and crannies of a place, and you discover little corners that otherwise would be forever hidden. I'm a great believer in life being a constant and fascinating journey, and mine has been so colourful and rewarding in many ways that I consider myself very lucky. Full profile ⋅ Leave a Review
