Oxford, founded in 900AD, is home to the world’s second oldest university, amazing museums, churches, libraries and botanical gardens. Steeped in the history of the Norman Conquest (1066), the Tudor dynastic struggle and the English civil war (1642-1651), Oxford has been the seat of the English parliament and the birth place of great evolutionary, religious, social, political, literary, economic and artistic ideas and movements from the theories of Charles Darwin to the films of Harry Potter.
I have lived with my family in Oxford for 25 years. I have travelled widely around the world - in Europe, Africa, Asia, China, Australia, USA, Canada and South America. I have worked in the City of London and in London's theatreland for 25 years. I now teach English as a foreign language to students from around the world and organise and lead them on trips around Oxford and to London and Stratford upon Avon. I love Oxford which is a very beautiful City and so full of history, culture and fun. Recently I was awarded a Diploma in The History of Art by Oxford University. I can arrage a tour of the City to suit your particular interests and time available but I suggest that you allow three hours - if you would like to make it a whole day - terrific. I will make sure that you have a wonderful and memorable experience. Full profile
