I was from England and was the first time in New York so went on this tour because did not know anywhere in Queens to go. Jeff Orlick was very well prepared with cartons, disposable plates and cutlery. He took us to a good variety of the different South American food in Jackson Heights and really knew where to go and which stalls were had good food. I rate his tour very highly and cannot fault anything really. I would never have been able to find out about where he took us if I had not gone on this tour. He also emailed the information about all the places that we visited on the tour afterwards and also emailed a lot of information before the tour when I signed up for it about other places that might be of interest.
We recently had the pleasure of joining Jeff for the midnight food crawl through the queens area. It was one of the most unique tours I've been on. We tried food from around 10 or so different street food vendors, majority I'd never seen or heard of before. It was awesome to try diverse foods from countries like Peru and Dominican Republic to name a few! Jeff was a great guide and definately knew the best places to try. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try something unique! Highly recommend!

AMAZING experience! Great food and great people. Totally stuffed at the end. I'm joining a day tour next. Highly recommend.
We just finished our tour last night and I may not have room to eat for a week but it was worth it. Jeff not only knows his food, he knows, and more importantly cares about the people who make it. You will learn about a neighbourhood and what sustains it. And the food is amazing.
Great experience! An absolut must for everyone who wants to see more of New York than Manhatten or cueing in front of sightseeing spots. Jeff guides you with his experience thru Queens and its very different Midnight Street Food offers. We had very different sorts of food and beverages coming from Mexican, Ecuadorian, Dominican and Colombian cuisine. We would never had gone to Queens alone, because we wouldn't know where to go.
We had a great time on this tour. Jeff's knowledge of the area and our collective curiosity of new things allowed for a laid back, unstructured evening full of great food and surprises. Jeff says no two tours are alike, and it's easy to see that he approaches his tours on a personalized level. I'd definitely recommend this tour to any NYC area residents and visitors alike. By the end of the evening, we were completely stuffed, satisfied, and had a much better understanding of this great neighborhood.
Thanks for the best guidede tour ever. The night we met Jeff, the sky opened and let the rain flood the streets. Not an easy situation for a midnight street food tour. We were only 4 people, so we vent on the walkingtour in Jeff car. We had a wonderfull tour and "tastede" and met a lot of nationalites. Lovely to se a nighbourhood funktion with all the different ethnic people. We can highly recomend the tour
Saw Jeff written up in Serious Eats and thought it was perfect since I've always been fascinated but intimidated by Jackson Height food. It's worth the price--you walk and eat every kind of Latin American street food (including delicious tamales and the freshest quesadila I've ever had) for 3 hours. We also came across a lot of other vendors that we weren't formal stops on the tour. 20 blocks of walking, eating, and meeting the friendly, welcoming people who make up one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in New York.
Jeff is a great guide, and the tour takes you to places that you'd never otherwise find. This is authentic Latin Street food, rather than a sanitised hipster food truck experience. Thanks for the good food, good company and good memories.
This was an amazing journey through some of the best street food in New York City, Latin and South American focused and all truly remarkable and diverse. Jeff was a great knowledgeable host who took us through the best of Latin Jackson Heights, showing us a whole world of cuisine that we knew little about despite living in Queens ourselves.
Not a review, but a question about what sounds like a totally cool thing ... :-) ... is the food consumed INCLUDED in the USD 60 - or is it extra :-) ??? Either way is fine with me, just trying to figure out how Jeff manages that ... thanks so much ... :-) ...
"One-of-a-kind" gets tossed around a lot these days. In this case, it's completely warranted. Jeff led our small group on a one-of-kind walk down Roosevelt Ave., with interesting characters and delicious food at every stop. This tour will not disappoint.
This is easily one of the highlights of my trip to New York. Jeff is an amazing guide who loves this Queens neighbourhood, and on a snowy February night, he took me into an NY culture I would never have found on my own. It's a neighbourhood of immigrant Mexicans and Ecuadorians with a seemingly limitless collection of street food trucks and carts on every street corner. On our two-hour walk, Jeff told me about the recent history of this fascinating Central/South American ghetto – plus some of the trouble they've been having with street-food culture and the law. I can't express how different this tour is to anything you'll see or do in New York. Jeff is the right man to show you these streets. Just go. You won't regret it.
I was on the Midnight Street Food Crawl last night with my wife and friends. It was excellent! Our guide Jeff was very knowledgeable, and pretty cool guy. The food was stellar, and the crawl itself provided an interesting perspective on Latin American food & culture in the NYC area. Highly recommended!
This tour really opened our eyes about the food scene in NYC. Far from just Michelin starred restaurants, by the pound salad bars in Midtown or 50 different pizzas made by someone named Ray, New York's cultural melting pot is alive and well! We all owe Jeff a great deal of gratitude in bringing these "hidden" ethnic foods to the surface. His interest and passion in learning about this subject is one of his key strengths. The fact that he continues to learn, ask questions and experiment on each tour makes each one unique and satisfying. Bring a big appetite, a curiosity for adventure and warm jacket (if you choose to go on a Sunday night in December)... then give this tour a whirl, you will unlikely be disappointed.
