with Sam Z.

Cava, Rioja, Rueda, Jerez...In this fun and lively seminar you will savor local specialties and learn about the growing regions, traditions, labels, and vocabulary of delicious Spanish wine from a youthful, knowledgable guide who is a classically-trained chef and wine professional. In a casual picnic setting in the lush green park at the vibrant heart of Barcelona you will kick back and awaken your senses as we taste bright and exciting wines, meet fellow travelers, sample gourmet, family-style food accompaniments, and leave all pretensions and pre-conceived notions behind!

Wine, at it’s most basic level, is a beverage (to be enjoyed with friends), so come savor Spain’s delicious wine and food in the park with me; your highly-educated guide (and fellow wine lover). Arrive with an open mind and depart with new knowledge, your own tasting notes, a directory of Barcelona’s best bodegas, a smile on your face, and colorful travel tale to share!

Meet at the Ruis i Taluet monument at the bottom of Passeig de Lluís Companys (where the promenade of the Arc de Triomf ends at Parc Cuitadella). From there we will find a comfortable spot in the park, set up our tasting, and spend 60-90 minutes learning about the wine regions of Spain, how to read Spanish wine labels, how to taste and critique wine, and how to create a harmonious wine pairing, all the while enjoying the company of other wine-appreciators and sampling the true Spanish lifestyle of simple pleasures.
-Tastings consist of 5 wines
-For larger groups, special requests for wine selections are welcome!

All wine, food, materials, and anecdotes included!
