Take a half day break and escape from Paris to discover some beautiful and preserved nature, that surrounds the French capital.
All hikes are easily accessible by train from major Paris stations. Hikes last half a day (transit time included) so they can be scheduled in the morning or the (early) afternoon.
You can choose from one of proposed options : Saint-Germain & Marly forests ; Following Oise River; Lakes & River near Versailles. More details below.
St Germain & Marly forests hike follows mainly forest paths (well marked and easy to walk on). On top of forest you will also discover St Germain Palace and a lovely water stream. Option possible for Le Corbusier Villa Savoye.
Please note that visits (and entrance fees) of St Germain Palace interiors and Villa Savoye are not part of the hike.
Following Oise river hike is a river-by hike that follows this lovely river north of Paris. You will discover several old village churches, a quite unexpected modern cityscape in Cergy and more. In July-August we can take an additional hour to go swim at Cergy beach ! (4€ entrance)
Lakes & River near Versailles hike will make you discover several nice lakes, a beautiful river, an aqueduct and more. Can be done before or after your visit of Versailles Palace. Please note it is not the visit of Palace Gardens, but a real preserved nature hike.
