The Marais has always been Paris’s most happening neighborhood,. Gay life here translates into the world’s best bars, clubs, restaurants, and boutiques. After 16 years living in the center of the Marais, it’s hard to not know where things are going on. While I’m not going to go drinking with you, nor will I be dancing until dawn, I can, however, provide you with a day-time tour that will show you where you can go when the sun goes down and have a great time! The tour will help you figure out how to make the best use of every minute in Paris by night. Have an interest in bears? No problem! Leather? I know where you can find it! Some say the Marais is like Disneyland for gay visitors. It can be… but you have to know where to go, and how to get there. I can help !

My name’s David. I live in the center of the Marais, Paris’s oldest and most interesting neighborhood. For the past 16 years, I’ve discovered something new and wonderful here almost every day. I’d love to share what I’ve found with you - both on the beaten path and off! My favorite restaurants, the best café for people watching, the Jewish quarter, Paris’s gay village, the central auction house, the gargoyles of St. Merri, a walk through the back streets of rue Montorgueil, the original covered shopping arcades, favorite bistrots, or the moving outdoor food markets? or perhaps Paris’s best stores for cooking equipment, or setting up some cooking lessons? The possibilities are endless. It depends on what you enjoy. Let me be your guide and help you get the best out of your stay in Paris. Service fee: Starting at $179 for up to 4 people for 2 hours. I enjoyed a wonderful tour with David on a summer-like day in March when we walked the Marais neighborhoods (the focus on the Marais was at my request.) David was fastidious about preparing the tour. He emailed and called me before I went to France in order to understand my wishes. He also emailed a list of recommended restaurants near where I would stay in the Marais. The day of the tour, he arrived with a couple of books and some photocopies of maps to address my wish to see how the Marais has changed over the years. We talked and looked at the books for a few minutes over coffee and then began walking. Since I already knew something about the Marais, David tried to select places I hadn't focused on yet, including the stunning, slightly hidden gardens of the National Archives. He was knowledgeable and wonderfully flexible. We ended up looking at gardens, architecture, and gay restaurants, cafes, and a bookstore, "Les Mots a la Bouche." David is an easy-going pleasant guy with a wealth of experience in various jobs and an in-depth knowledge of Paris. Tour with him - you'll be glad you did.
