One Day Shanghai Creativity Tour

The development of Tianzifang is fairly recent. It is also known as Taikang Road which was a back street in Dapuqiao district. One of the Shanghai highlights is the old residential buildings called ‘shikumen’, literally ‘stone doors’, which reflects a confluence of architectural tastes.

M50 is the name of the complex that has become the Moganshan Road Art District in Shanghai. Formerly a set of dilapidated warehouses, the complex, just south of Shanghai Suzhou Creek, has been turned into the premier location for Shanghai's modern art movement.
M50 is a paradise for those creative people. It is called an open creation park. About 100 artistes and designing units that come from all over the world such as Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, Canada, Norway, Chinese Hong Kong and ten more provinces of China. The works displayed in this park with a wide range from art gallery to TV production.

Red Town is one of Shanghai’s most established art districts, where sculptures, photographs and paintings are part of the overall setting, taking the visitor on a visual journey à la Alice in red-brick-wonderland. Now home to the Shanghai Sculpture Space and Minsheng Art Museum (amongst several other art galleries, cafés and gift shops), Red Town’s buildings used to be part of a steel factory – another great conversion of the Shanghainese landscape for the pleasure of art lovers!

After your breakfast,our tour guide will pick up from your Shanghai hotel lobby and transfer to High Street Loft, where the workshops of the Three-Gun Garment Factory used to stand, High Street LOFT is composed of four groups of theme buildings with a total constructed space of about 30,000 square meters available for rent. Sightseeing about 1hour.

Then move on to visit Red Town,a Creative Industry Park and features museums, galleries, shops,a night club and many other venues such as the Electrolux Design Space, the Vidal Sassoon Academy or a mixed martial arts sport club. In the center of the space is a green area which is full of sculptures. Sightseeing about 1hour.

Lunch at a local restaurant(1.5hours).

Then transfer to the narrow lane of Tianzi Fang. Tian Zi is located at Taikang Road. It is an old street dotted with local style Shikumen Houses, which is a symbol of Shanghai folk culture. The building was an old factory in 1950's.Now featuring interior designing, visual art, arts & crafts it has attracted more than 70 units from 18 countries and regions. Sightseeing about 1.5hours.

Our last stop for today is M50 Creative Garden, a characteristic complex of historical buildings from the 1930s to the 1990s, is the best preserved architectural legacy of national textile industry on the banks of the Suzhou River. The garden has introduced some 100 artists and designing units. They are from 16 countries and regions such as Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, Canada, Norway, Chinese Hong Kong and more than ten provinces of China . The designing units include art gallery, fashion design, plane design, architectural design, film and TV production and etc. Sightseeing about 1hour.

Be transferred back to your Shanghai hotel after the day activities.
