This experience is no longer available and I am unable to find a way to hide it. That is why the cost is $10000 per person.I will take you crabbing on the Oregon Coast near Reedsport and teach you how to catch crab, cook crab, and then, if the crab gods smile upon us, we will eat crab. The Oregon Coast is famous for Dungeness Crab but not everyone knows how to catch them. This trip is limited to 3 people if I am providing transport - if you have your own transport, we can go up to 20 people.

Cost includes crab trap rental, 3 day license, and instruction. If the weather permits and the crab gods fill our traps, we can cook the crab on the beach...if not, you will be ready for your next crabbing adventures with all the instruction you need.

Ordering a fresh dungeness crab usually costs approximately $24-$36 depending on market conditions. A 3 day out of state crabbing license is $17. Crab trap rental runs anywhere from $10-$15 per day per trap. Crab bait can run anywhere from $3-$10. This leaves the cost of this experience at a very reasonable rate. While I cannot guarantee that we will catch crab, I can promise that you will finish the day knowing how to use several types of crab traps, which kind of bait to use, and more. If you want to have a fun outdoor day on the Oregon Coast, this is a great adventure for you.

I will meet you in Reedsport or Winchester Bay and we will go from there.

I love Oahu and all of the Hawaiian Islands. I graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in Anthropology and I've traveled to more than fifty countries as a travel writer, guide, anthropologist and blogger. I'm originally from Big Bear Lake, CA but I have called Oahu home for nearly twenty years. I am a lifelong learner and a huge fan of technology, finance, cryptocurrency, history, culture, and languages. There is not much I love more than sharing this island with new friends - but I'm a proud papa of a Model:2011 daughter and there is nothing which compares with being that. I look forward to becoming friends with you and sharing the many secrets of this place that I love. Full profile

My boyfriend and I had a really awesome time crabbing with Vago! Vago was extremely fun and friendly, and he really made our trip worthwhile. We have never gone crabbing before, so Vago provided us with all the basic techniques as well as insider tips on how to optimize our catch. Once we set up all of our traps, Vago took us to a hidden beach, which was absolutely gorgeous. When we got back, we pulled in a ton of crab - way more than others on the docks that day. As with fishing, some days you pull in dozens of keepers, other days you pull in none. We happened to have no crabs that were within legal limits that day, but Vago had a Plan B and Plan C already laid out for us. We went with Plan B (you'll have to find out what this is), and ended up enjoying a delicious crab boil as we shared travel stories. We topped off our trip with a visit to a local brewery. We highly recommend this trip if you want an insider experience of the Oregon Coast. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Make sure you bring your sunscreen, or you'll end up looking like the catch of the day ;-)
