After a successful career of 28 years in Advertising and Marketing, I moved to Italy. I live in the middle of a vineyard situated above the village of Vernazza. I have hosted many friends, friends of friends and met literally 1000's of tourists in Vernazza asking me what to do, where to go and "can you help me find a room?". I moved here in April of 2010 and since then I have had the pleasure of meeting most of the people in the village of Vernazza. I have been exploring the local areas for where the locals go when they want to get away. Everyone in the village tells me to open and information center to help the tourist... I just love talking to people and helping them to enjoy their experience in Vernazza. I was asked by a friend (who could not hike) to start tours for people who come to Vernazza but don't want to hike or simply can't hike but would like to see some of the very same sites as those who walk the trails.

Jodi was the best! She gave us two senior gals a great insider's view of Vernazza, showing us places and introducing us to people we would not have come in contact with otherwise. She went way out of her way to show us a great time, including a short walk along a very high-up trail with absolutely nobody else around, culminating in a spectacular view of the Cinque Terre coastline that we two photo enthusiasts drooled over for a long time. Many great photos were captured thanks to Jodi. We also enjoyed a wonderful Italian lunch with Jodi at a delightful, informal place out in the country, far from Vernazza. The food was outstanding. Jodi is very sweet and personable and we were 100% satisfied with the entire 6-hour venture with her. We would recommend her to anyone. In fact, we already have. Thanks Jodi.

Jodi was amazing! She gave us perfect directions to park our car and we met her in the village and began our tour. Everywhere we went Jodi knew EVERYTHING about the shop, restaurant, trail, history, or beautiful view we saw and EVERYONE knows her. She took us to an amazing place for lunch and even ordered for us – we tried all sorts of dishes – some of which weren’t even on the menu. All delicious!! One of the fishermen at the port stopped to talk to Jodi and showed us his boat and lines and talked to us about his catch. In the afternoon we drove up the mountain and saw spots that only locals ever go to – gorgeous views with not a person in sight! We even got to hike way up on top of the mountain for spectacular views of the coastline – with no huffing and puffing to get there! Jodi knew all about the Cinque Terra wines and the co-op of growers. She even taught us about the secret local wine called Sciacchetra (pronounced sha-ka-tra) and got one of the locals to let us taste his stuff. What a perfect day full of adventures we never would have had without Jodi!
