“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” ― Augustine of Hippo.
I am a Los Angeles native, BU senior, aspiring journalist and political junkie. Like many, I have always had a travel bug. My parents who also love to travel blessed me with the opportunity to join them on adventures ranging from Las Vegas to Jamaica. In May of 2011, I participated in University of Virginia's one-month Semester at Sea program called "Maymester." We traveled to six countries in Central America (Trinidad&Tobago, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama) in 26 days and blogged about it (www.sabaatsea.tumblr.com). In each country we visited, there was an ongoing theme of beauty masked by corruption. With only an intermediate level of Spanish, I attempted to learn as much as I could about the people of each country by conversing with them about the political climate and life in general. In Spring 2012, I studied abroad in London and backpacked Europe.
