I live in Point Roberts, Washington, a U.S. exclave you can only get to by going through Canada. Four generations of my family have earned a living at Point Roberts. I'm the author of a book about the history of Point Roberts and what it's like to live in an exclave where the federal government guards the entrance to the town. Point Roberts has a fascinating history of smuggling, pirates and thousands of Canadians who came here to do things they couldn't back in Canada. Four generations of my family have made a living here. Let me share this geographic oddity to you.
