My (new) wife and I had a short day-and-a-half stopover in London on our way to Africa for our honeymoon, and since I had been before but my significant other had NOT I wanted a fun way to see parts of the city that most tourists wouldn't know about. What a perfect solution Kathryn's tour turned out to be! We loved meeting her at Waterloo station, taking the buses around to Brixton and Clerkenwell for market browsing and a couple pub visits, and just hearing about life in a completely different part of the world. Kathryn definitely demonstrations a true love and deep admiration for her hometown. She was a huge wealth of knowledge. It was so nice not to be stuck in the same ol' museum lines during our quick stay. We hope to keep in touch and revisit the city again sometime soon....Kathryn feels like a true friend already!!
Emmy is awesome! She met us on a Sunday night at our hotel and took us for an authentic Japanese meal at a small, out-of-the-way restaurant near Shibuya/Rappongi. It was a place that we would have never found in 1,000 years! Service was fantastic and Emmy felt like an old friend after only a short subway ride. She then proceeded to take us to a couple small izakaya behind the crazy intersection of Shibuya Crossing which also blew our minds! So much fun to sit and chat about daily life in Tokyo. We would not hesitate to recommend Emmy to other visitors.
This tour was an absolutely awesome way to get the lay of the land in a very large, spread out, and intimidating city such as Tokyo. We hit many of the hot spots including Asakusa, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku. Nao gave very clear and easy instructions on where to meet in the morning and we were delighted to be received not only by him but also 2 other guides who informed us that since we were the only reservations that morning we would essentially have a private tour. Nao left us in the expert care of his employees and they took excellent care of us. We could really tell the pride the Japanese have for their culture and heritage from these fine tour guides! We would not hesitate to book the East city tour with them next time we visit.
Both Kevin and his wife, Shelby, were a pleasure to guide and be with. I would happily take them out again anytime.
Had a brilliant day hosting Kevin and Shelby. They were my second honeymooning couple and it's such a pleasure to share people's special holidays and different stories. They were so enthusiastic - jetlag, what jetlag?! - and I loved enjoying local beer with them and good British pub food. You could tell they were genuinely interested to learn how London 'ticks' and really embraced exploring local haunts. Will be great to keep in touch with you both!
I had a great time hosting Kevin and Shelby. They were such a nice warm couple who I could talk to as if I have known them from before. They also tried some Japanese food and were very interested in the manners and people's lifestyle here. I hope they liked my tour and come back to Tokyo sometime in the future!
