Susan LaDue was born in Orange County, New York and grew up in the New York City suburb of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. She attended New York University where she earned a BA in French. She also received a PhD. in Romance Languages from Yale University. Over the years she has worked as a professor of French and Women’s Studies at the University of Massachusetts; a human resources manager at a Fortune 100 company; and a small business owner. She has lived and worked in New York, Boston, Paris, and San Francisco. In addition to her writing, Susan also owns a dog daycare and grooming business in Massachusetts. She's an unrepentant dog lover and always works with her Shetland Sheepdog (Shuki) and her Cocker Spaniel (Benny) beside her.
