I had a very delicious Ukrainian dinner at Evgenija's place. The drinks and 4 courses were an amazing, good and new taste to me. The appetizer with Ukrainian bacon, garlic and bread was a good start. The Borsch(Ukranian, not russian :), soup) was very tasty, especially adding fresh sour cream. The vareniki with potatoes and salted cherries suprised me again pleasantly! Really enough food for a hungry person. The desert was well presented and delicous course. The vodka was very good, strong, but a very good taste. Nothing compared to the brands you can buy in the shop here. It was really nice to get to know Evgenija and Tatyana, they are very dedicated hosts with a lot of Ukranian hospitality. Thanks you so much for this dinner and sharing information about yourselves and Ukraine!!! Highly recommended dinner!
I really saw a lot of beautiful street art this afternoon! Surprising that there is that much here in Amsterdam and so much better than watching pics on internet!!! Nicole is quiet an authority on street art in Amsterdam I think as she has been following it for years now, starting in London, but the last years exploring Amsterdam street art. She has a broad network with galleries and artists themselves, she gets regular updates about new street art projects and knows all the names behind the artworks. She even worked close with an Dutch tv- documentary about street art, see the link on the activty. The tour will also bring you to the less touristic places/streets in Amsterdam and along the way she can tell you other information as well about Amsterdam. Definitely recommended by me!!!
I had a very limited time in Amsterdsm, and taking a tour was the best way to spend those few hours! Marius is a nice and bright person with a big passion to knowing and showing the best of Amsterdam, off the beaten paths and with great attention to your interests. He showed me beautiful places - enough to like Amsterdam and get interested in it. We did not have time to see NDSM, but I am 100% sure I'll go and see it next time. A huge thank-you to Marius! Nonna
We had a great time walking and talking along the streets with Marius and exploring quite unexpected parts of the city like the NDSM-shipyard. The dinner afterwards was very nice too and we really enjoyed our first " stamppot" in Marius's comfortable appartment although we stil haven't quite sorted out so far what endives were exactly ;-) We definitely recommend this tour and the dinner that followed. I like the NDSM, westerpark, Jordaan trip where you try many forms of transports by bus, ferry, tram or a healthy walk to see Jordaan area and the north part of Amsterdam. During the trip Marius highlights the history part, introduce you to interesting places. Tell Marius what you want to see during your trip and he will come up with a great plan and gets you the information you need. Marius is reliable, fun to be with and the price is right.
We went on a tour with Marius when I had two friends from the States visit me. We took the ferry to the NDSM area where I had not been before. So that was nice already. We walked around and discovered things/places that I would not have been able to find by myself. Afterwards we had hot chocolate and a nice lunch at Pllek, great way to end the tour! Thanks again Marius, we really enjoyed learning about a new and very different part of Amsterdam!
We have seen a place that a tourist would miss normally. But for sure, you have to see this part of Amsterdam also!! Thanks to the advise of our guide Marius.
It wasn't about Van Gogh, Tulip Museum, Sex Museum, Madam Tussaud, Canal trip etc. It is something else!! I didn't know what I was looking for in Amsterdam until I met this local tour guide!! For me, it's all about the person you are with that adds on to having great experiences. He knows the kinda music I am into and he's a great planner!! I definitely enjoyed myself being with him and he taught me a popular dutch word: Gezellig! There's no english translation for this word but you gotta be with him in order to feel it :-) **Oh yea, I think if you book his tours in advance you might be in for some surprises. No promises about that but I'm lucky I had mine ;-) His price tours are great too!!! Check him out for more details now!!!
Marius is a very friendly and enjoyable guy. We experienced some local places. He is very flexible in terms plan. I recommend you to tell him what you look for and I'm sure he will come it true.
The tour was so fun and the dutch dinner was fantastic. I do enjoy everything provided by Marius. Highly recommended!
I had an excellent experience with Marius. Although I've visited Amsterdam many times, I learned a lot. The dinner was also quite good. I also got the opportunity to see his flat, which he offers through airbnb and it was fantastic! Marius is a personable and friendly guy and I would take a tour with him again. Thanks for a great time Marius!
We absolutely love the tour especially the NDSM area. We wouldn't have been to it if not for Marius' tour. The stammpot dinner was really delicious. Marius is a wonderful tour guide. Highly recommended!
marius was a great guide around the city for a few hours... we cruised the jordaan area, including a local market. we also explored random streets i would have never discovered on my own without a local! he was able to provide recs for vegetarian friendly places to eat and also cooked a delicious veg version of stamppot. a friendly, fun guide with domestic talents as well! i would recommend booking a tour with him if you're in amsterdam and would like to see the city through a local's eyes.
Dinner with Marius was great! It was really nice to be inside a Dutch home and have a real Dutch home cooked meal - Marius is a good cook. It was interesting talk to someone who is part of Dutch culture and the city. He had great tips about Amsterdam and about places to go. the city. I can definitely recommend it! I planned a tour with him for next week and am already looking forward to it.
Great time. Good food and good conversation. Can't ask for much more.
